After repairing an aunts weed wacker, my uncle asked me to repair his 028 Stihl chainsaw that wouldn't start. It's about 35 years old and that model hasn't been made since the 90's IIRC. Bob's Power Equipment here in B'ham said they can't get parts for it anymore, "discontinued". I stumbled onto this website and got his saw back up to running with a new fuel hose, impulse hose, carb repair kit, and some finessing of his mispositioned choke lever.

Before the smartasses say "buy a new one" - he has 3 modern Stihls and just wanted this one to work.

Thought I'd share.

Thanks brother. I have a couple of saws I keep running and may look here for parts when necessary.

Awesome, great job keeping the “old” Stihl going. I may try it for my 50 year old Poulan from my grandfather.

Cool. I’ve got an old 010 that needs some TLC.
