No matter what settlement is reached, there will be real and imagined costs passed onto the consumer. The unions are adding to the down-turned economy.

This is the most important aspect of the situation!
I seem to have heard that only ONE new automobile has a sticker price of under $20,000. The average price of new cars in the U.S. is well over $50,000 with freight and taxes.
Where the hell do you think that any production price increase is going?...used car prices will skyrocket again.
And to top it all off, the UAW heads are washing their hands with Biden over the "green initiative" in the auto industry, saying there'll be 100,000 union jobs lost over it.
I'm fortunate enough to be able to sit back, grab a beer, and watch the chaos when all this comes down, but I DO feel badly for those whose lives will be turned upside down.
