Need Garage Door Belt Replacement Advice

I have a Overhead Door Company (ODCo) opener, model Legacy 696cd/b.
The belt (not chain) needs to be replaced and when I contacted ODCo they said that the belt was discontinued and there was no replacement.
The opener works fine and I would really hate to have to replace the whole unit just because the belt is bad.
Do they make replacement belts for this type of situation? If so, how would I determine the correct belt? Teeth, length (8' door), etc...?
Any advice is appreciated.

If you have the old belt, try the Belt Center in Port Allen.

Get the model number and google.
Once you find the part number, try Ebay.

I had Overhead come to my house about a month ago….they had previously installed the wrong spring. On the way out, the guy tells me the insulated doors I bought from them are now obsolete, and you can’t get parts for them any more. Says the doors can’t be fixed…..only replaced. This sounds like a pattern.

Moral to that story is to not buy from Overhead Door Company.
My gas range is a Jenn Air "Industrial Model). One of the lighter modules for range has gone out. They don't make them any more.
Will be avoiding Jenn Air in the future.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Called the belt center in Port Allen and unfortunately, he couldn't find the crossover. With that said, what he found was on EBay for $80, so I may go that route. Better to risk $80 on the belt than to buy a whole new unit.

I've used Overhead Door in Lafayette, never had a problem.
Glad you found your belt.

They install Chamberlain/liftmaster door openers, at least they did on mine.

Based on what I see it appears they used a branded Genie opener that is not manufactured anymore.
You might be able to substitute if you can match the width, thickness and teeth per inch parameters on the belt?

Any idea if there is supplier that I could bring the belt to in south La (Lafayette to New Orleans)? The belt store in Port Allen was more a lawn mower belt store. Great guy, just not set up for garage door belts.

Maybe call them and see if they think they could help?
