At first glance I figured this was a woman genuinely trying to avoid a trip to see annoying family members. However, given where they live (the Pacific Northwest) and given how airheaded and stubborn women already are, it would not surprise me in the least if this woman had every intention of making the flight with her husband and daughter. Time management skills are very rare in the female Homo sapien.

If the event calls for you to be there at 7:00pm, tell your wife it is at 6:30. Then you have a chance of being on-time for the event, whatever it may be.

This is true, and it makes me thankful for my wife of nearly 19 years, whom actually knows how to budget her time.
