It doesn’t work with JD running the show. Square peg round hole sort of thing. But I’m not so sure it doesn’t work otherwise cuz when I see Nuss in the game, there doesn’t seem to be the same problems about Denbrock when you have a QB who can actually throw the ball. Watched all of Nuss highlights from last year and that doesn’t look like an offense that doesn’t work. It seems to me JD can’t do the things being asked if him and if that’s the case then they need to either play Nuss or tailor the game plan more towards what JD can do better like rolling the pocket on most plays. Just my observations.

I don't really agree.

I don't like the tight formations. I hate that everything is short to intermediate passing. And, I hate how poorly we run the ball.

But, I view all of those things as scheme and philosophy. Play calling worked pretty much all night. We easily could have score 40 if things fall differently.

This is huge for me. For as athletic as the team is, why they would motion a receiver in to block rather than spread the opposing defense out is crazy. The worst part is never play-actioning off of that same pre-snap movement, so the defense is just teeing off on the offensive line. Spread them out, push them off with some deep shots early.

The bunch formation was used A LOT on the 2019 team. It's effective because you can rub and misdirect the DBs. They get caught in the traffic trying to switch.

The problem is we don't execute it well.
