Perhaps fans calling for the backup aren’t saying “Nuss is better”, but instead are saying “I disagree with Kelly’s choice to go with a low risk/low reward player that won’t throw picks but doesn’t maximize the talent of others over a high risk/high reward player that gives others a chance to make plays even at the expense of a turnover here and there.”
I’ve no doubt JD is the right answer for the question Kelly seems to currently be asking (“who will protect the ball better”) but fans might think that given our limitations on defense and at running back, a better question might be “who can win in the pass-heavy shootouts we are going to find ourselves in?”

So in other words, I can either believe that the average Rantard has longer and better vision than I have or than the professional coaching staff has...or...
I can believe that the average Rantard is a bleeding vagina that completely melts at the first sign of adversity.
Sorry...going with option two every time.
