Valid reply if that's how you feel. The wife and I still have a housecat and he's not expensive to deal with----for now, but if like the last cat my wife adopted, it can get $$$ quick when they age.

Damn cat had diabetes late in life and needed daily insulin shots and a special diet. Buying the meds and food from the vet was out of the question since it was 2-3 times the price I was paying through Chewy.com for the same products.

With the trend today of people treating their pets like they are 4 legged kids only helps bolster the vets charging what they do since so many people will pay it.

One of my wife's friends had 2 dogs, both pretty much past their "use by" date who spent over $5K last year having medical procedures done to them. One died about 3 months later the other is going down fast.

Personally, I won't go into debt over medical procedures for a pet. Let the downvotes commence.

I mean $25 pet insurance covers all emergency medical costs. I've used it 3 times in the last few years and other than $100 deductible was fully reimbursed each time.

This right here. It’s not a “fur baby” or whatever other crap. It’s a fricking dog. It doesn’t need to go to daycare. Most of the cancer treatments and knee replacements and other ridiculous crap people spend thousands on would be better cured with a .22.
