Gives them a heads up on having to focus on skill development through childhood, would be a big one. Gives them a heads up on how they'll have to learn to navigate social interactions. Gives them essentially every possible advantage to turn the table tilted against them, either away from that weakness, or towards a strength.

Its pretty damned invalauble for a huge number of kids, even if you have half the little shits using it as a crutch.

Don't forget that the school systems can get extra funding of they are delivering certain services to students with special needs.
