Quick is currently serving 57 months in federal prison for an unrelated conviction and has faced numerous charges in Scotland County, including an arrest in in January 2016 after three children were shot in the leg after a party at a home on Vance Street in Laurinburg. He was 16 years old at the time.

Quick was most recently arrested during a traffic stop in May 2022 in Scotland County while he was out of jail on bond after being charged with murder in the killing of Monterrrio Taylor in February 2021.

Why is this guy still breathing?

I should also mention that one of the victims, William Lavigne, was a Delta Force Operator with his own criminal history.

No chance that those three didn't already know each other beforehand - it will be interesting if / when this ever gets to trial.

Lavigne wasn't the first CAG guy to go completely off the deep end after a decade+ rotating throughout the world for the GWOT and other spots. I'd be a lot of money the guy was an addict.

Seth Harp, a journalist for Rolling Stone, posted Lavigne's ERB. I'm an idiot and didn't screenshot it. He actually didn't have many combat deployments. If anything, it looked like was taking as many non combat deployments as possible. IIRC, he deployed once to Afghanistan with CAG, then did a JCET in Niger, then did a JCET in Israel, then deployed once to Iraq.

Supposedly got messed up after shooting and killing his friend. Both his family and his friend had just returned from a trip to Disney they took together. It was considered justifiable homicide.

Despite getting off that shows some healthy imbalance leasing up to that and will definitely rip apart family / friends dynamics.

Seth Harp hasn't proven to be a particularly reliable journalist in the past, if I remember correctly. Borderline whack job and conspiracy theorist.

I'd be curious if 1) he actually had Lavigne's ERB and 2) if a JSOC ERB was actually accurate. I have a rather hard time believing someone did 19 years between 2001 and 2020, 14 years of which was in 1st Group and JSOC, and only went to Iraq once and Afghanistan once.

It was legit. Harp has been in contact with Lavigne's family and friends and most likely got his records from his widow. Former CAG operators have stated in interviews that their service records aren't classified once they retire. Operational tempo really slowed down for everyone post-2010, which was when Lavigne joined CAG. As an example, Jonathan Dunbar joined CAG in 2013 and deployed 3 times from 2013-2018. A far cry from the guys talking about deploying multiple times per year in the 2000s.

How is Seth Harp a conspiracy theorist? Just because you don’t like someone’s angle doesn’t make them unreliable.
Lavigne did deployments to Afghanistan in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, and to Iraq/Syria in 2015 and 2017.
He also did multiple combat deployments before 2011 that aren’t shown on the ERB that Harp posted due to space constraints.

Did you manage to get screenshot of the tweet? The way I remember it, it was:

Afghanistan (combat)
Afghanistan (combat)
Niger (operational)
Iraq (combat)
Israel (operational)
Iraq (combat)

Didn’t all this happen right around the time that Green Beret got murdered by SEALs/Raiders on deployment in Africa? Can’t believe they chalked that up as an accident.

That was around a year before. A SEAL and some Marines killed a Green Beret in Africa they had beef with and eventually went to prison for it.

Lavigne killed a Green Beret for still unknown reasons and got off scot free.

Yeah I’ve read most of Seth Harp’s reporting on that. IIRC he’s writing a book about shady stuff going down at Bragg. He obviously has great sources.
