Two years ago I purchased the "more expensive" Melnor sprinklers from a box store. One failed pretty quickly, and now the other has also. Looks like it's assembled in a way not to be taken apart/cleaned.
By failed, I mean they get stuck in their cycle.
I'm speaking of the fan/rainbow style sprinkler.
Wondering if to just buy the cheap plastic ones and replace as needed.
Suggestions welcome.

I’ve been very happy with my Eden 94127 Adjustable 4-Way Mini Turbo Oscillating Sprinkler. Lots of easy adjustability and $40 on Amazon.

Ive had the same issues and started making my own out of 3/4” PVC. Simple google search for ideas. I like being able to choose the type of head to use. I’ve have good luck with the Rain Bird CP5004PC.

I have a bunch of sprinklers.
I recommend any “turbo”/gear driven oscillating sprinkler. The plastic fan style seem to break pretty easily.
Impact sprinklers are also pretty reliable, but they can get hung up if you have them set on a timer.

I love the vintage Nelson Dial A Rain sprinklers with rifled jets.

Thanks for all the suggestions. They all look like better options than I've had in the past. And some true Cadillac versions!
I think I'm going to try making my own, with a pvc base and Rainbird head(s). My water source is from a well, so this will allow me change/clean the head if needed.
Thanks again for the suggestions!

This is what I did, Just like the other poster, works very well. Also you can put another spigot on it so you can run them in a series.
