Spanish Flu legitimately killed 50 million people and was devastating for infants and toddlers.

It actually wasn't THAT devastating for young children or the elderly. The people that were most affected by the Spanish Flu were young adults between 18-29 years of age. From the years 1914-1921, almost an entire generation of people had been wiped out by World War I, the various conflicts that spun up as a direct result of that war, and the Spanish Flu. No wonder they were called the Lost Generation.

I'm still willing to agree that the death numbers were probably inflated for the same reason Covid numbers were inflated. To instill fear, control, etc.
Not saying it wasn't a bad virus, just that it's entirely plausible the numbers weren't as high as generally accepted now

It is called the "Spanish Flu" because only Spain had free press it the time to report it. The rest of the world involved in WWI (including the US) restricted the press to not affect morale for the war.

Spanish Flu and c19 are related which is why stopping it before it could mutate was so important. About a decade after the Spanish Flu there was a massive global "die off" that has now been attributed to those who survived Spanish Flu at the end of WWI

We are arguing about pro and anti vaccine when the real threat is long c19 which, like the Spanish Flu, will resurface in the initial survivors and kill them later.

Those that fail to study history are their own worst enemy.
