He wasn't completely clueless. We had the best season ever because he at least knew he needed to try something new on offense in order to ever top Bama. He also recruited his arse off. And he didn't just stick with the QBs he had (Brennan, etc.). He was told about Burrow, went out and recruited him, and Burrow said O was the reason he came to LSU. The rest is history.
I didn't want him as head coach and it fell apart after 2019, but 2019 was magical and no one can ever take that away.

But make no mistake, he has no idea how any of that happened or how to replicate it, and outside of that random occurrence he is exactly what the rest of his career says he is. A meathead, yes man recruiter, historically bad head coach, and nothing more.
