Get to know someone really handy with hvac experience, have a trane 5 ton compressor went out, we bought just the compressor and replaced it for 1800
..was going to be 8k to replace with inferior brand..I paid a case of beer on top of parts

And get multiple quotes. I got 3 quotes, same job. 2 of the quotes were $2000 apart and the 3rd was over $7000 more. I assume the 3rd really didn't want the job. All 3 companies had great reviews, both online and by word of mouth, and were very easy to deal with in the process.

Just have to make sure its paid off by the offer time frame. I just did it but my company only had 1 year interest free (I had the money but better to finance it) and if you didnt pay it off before that time frame you were hit with 17% interest. This is where they get people. You are not going to get anything finance for free but they know some people will not be able to pay it and they get all the interest.
