I haven’t purchased any yet but O’Neal’s Farm and Garden in Ruston sells Green Country fertilizer by Shell Beach, Inc. Is there one you’d recommend?

Not a bad idea for me since I haven't done this before with my spreader. I'll measure out some sections in the lawn, weigh some product, and see how much the spreader drops.

I starting using Sta-Green Performance Max this year and my grass improved a lot. It is thicker and greener.

Seeded on 14 July. I’ve mowed it 5 times now, I believe and I water it regularly with the irrigation system. Just had a bout with armyworms and would love to expedite the recovery, but the grass is still doing well. There are a few thin areas that need to fill in also, so I figure the fertilizer would help give it a boost.

I ordered some from Amazon.

This depends on how the 33-0-0 was made. If it’s just Urea (46-0-0) and filler, then all you have done is paid for filler and you could have applied half the amount of 46-0-0 and done the same thing. Better would be to find some 33-0-0-12s, which is half Urea (46-0-0) and half Ammonium Sulfate (21-0-0-24s). I don’t know your location, but most soils in S. Louisiana are deficient in Sulfur and that is what helps get the Nitrogen from the roots into the plant, so 33-0-0 that is made with Ammonium Sulfate is preferable. Just ask your supplier, they should be able to tell you what the components in the bag are.
