what route is better from baton rouge to get there?

br to laffy to s-port to little rock or br to hammond to memphis to little rock?

took the laffy route in 04 but google and mapquest say to take the other way.

I go 190 to 49, then 49 to s-port, then to little rock. You are on hwy 71 for only about 20 minutes once you hit shreveport where 49 ends. 549 in arkansas is nice and the drive to little rock is very pleasant going this way.

I would go the 55 way, but that is mainly because I am a lot more familiar with the roads up there than I am in the Laffy route.

we are going up I 55, get off at the Utica / Crystal Springs exit to Vicksburg, then take 61 , cross into Ark at Lake Village then to Little Rock. Suppose to be a pretty drive.

Hwy 27. I hate that road. I usually get behind someone who is going 25 mph and I can't pass the whole 40 miles through there.

I would go 61 to Natchez, cross the river, then go 65 to Pine Bluff. Only slowdown really is Natchez/Vidalia/Ferriday area. Open Roads and very little traffic.

i would go up us 61 cross over in Natchez take 425 in Ferriday which is 4 lanes all the way to i-20 and continue on 425 through Bastrop up to Pine Bluff. The 65 route through Lake Village is not bad either. Going through Shreveport will add almost 2 hours to your trip coming from Baton Rouge. I use to drive to Little Rock quite often from Baton Rouge to visit a client. the route that I stated would take me around 6 hours.

i took the 425 route and it might be a little shorter than the 65 route but not by much. Problem with the 425 route is that there some major speed traps north of Ferriday around Wisner and Winsborro, and Sicily Island. I got nailed there 2 years ago going 4 miles over yielded me a $200 dollar ticket.

My family lives in Stutgart, an hour south of Little Rock, and I go through St. Francisville, Natchez, Tallulah, Lake Providence, Lake Village. Its 6 hours to Stuttgart, so you are looking at 7 hours.

I make it on the 425 route between 6 and 6.5 hours.
