St. Augustine fertilizer question

My St.Augustine is very stressed, as I'm sure most everyone's is in this current heat and lack of rain. I'd like to get in a mid-August round of fertilization It went several weeks without any significant amount of water. Starting this past Saturday I've been watering daily, and it appears to be starting to green back up. Is it a good or bad idea to fertilize if the grass is heavily stressed?

Your problem was probably just letting your lawn dry out in the heat. Your daily watering was probably a good idea to bring it back, but if you’ve noticed that it’s bouncing back then I’d water every other morning.
Throwing down some fert would be ok, you just might need to increase the water amount per watering. Keep an eye on it.

Thanks for posting. I had same question you have. I’m in similar situation and started watering recently.
I only did spring fertilization. I never ended up doing my 2nd June/July fertilization this year. I’m considering fertilizing when or if rain is ever in the forecast.

Use liquid iron until rain is in the forecast.
