Palm tree question. Heavy fern throughout.

Do people shave this fern stuff off that grows up the sides and throughout. It is embedded so deep in this palm seems like it would be impossible to remove at this point?Do people leave it on the palm? Does anybody shave it off and then just do that regularly ?This is a large tree probably 30 years old.

I remove it from our Canary Island palm.

Only cosmetic. Does not harm to the palm.

Purely personal preference, the ferns cause no harm to the palm tree.
