Regardless of this incomprehensible text exchange, what truly astounds me is that, at no time, did momma ever try to talk Jr. out of his plan.

I worked a few cases in N. Louisiana and it is astounding how little respect for human life a certain demographic currently has. They do not value anyone, even themselves.

Case in point, a guy with one gang was accused of shooting and killing the leader of another gang. He pled self defense, which was not supported by any evidence, but most telling was the phone dumps that the cops got. Shortly after the incident, the shooter texted his sister and told her he had shot the other guy. Her response "okay, well just do your lick". Absolutely no remorse or concern from the sister, just told him to go serve his time in prison, like he was going on an extended vacation.

Unfortunately, in some groups, spending time in prison is now seen as a right of passage and, in a sense, an honorable thing. Until that attitude changes, anarchy will continue to spread.
