We went from a bigger front load washing machine to a speed queen TC5 and can literally wash clothes in half the time. Take that for what its worth.

I enjoy lower utility bills and don't mind the time it takes to wash/dry clothes as long as the machines work. I'm not sure the energy usage on Speed Queens but sounds like they either run very efficiently or will consume quite a bit of energy.
I've had my LG Tower for over a year now and have not run into any issues, especially no issues regarding mold developing in the rubber gasket. Maybe it's just the machine I bought. I also enjoy having that extra space available for storage in my utility closet.
