A lot of retail theft is by employees.

I knew a guy who worked at Dillards unloading trucks. Stole suits often.

Wasn’t there a thread on here about a woman who had hundreds of pairs of shoes because she worked at a store and stole the shoes?

I was in the Ellick Dillards on a weekday last month. There were maybe six employees and about as many customers. Whole sections were vacant. You could have grabbed an armload of shirts or whatever and walked out. Not only would no one have stopped you, no one would have seen you.

Can’t speak post start Covid but yes most retail theft is by employees (not customers) and most large stores already have this in their yearly fiscal budget.

Dillards

I used to work the security cameras at the local Dillard's when I was in college. They have the dumbest loss prevention policy I've ever heard of. They have no sensors at the exits and they have one guy monitoring multiple cameras for the entire store while one of the managers walks around d with a walkie. When he goes ho.e, they hire a local cop to come in and walk the floor. One guy for an entire department store.

It has to be one of the easiest stores to steal from ever.
