I mean in all honesty, who cares, it's not like the person in them is going to notice. When my brother died, we paid out the arse for a casket, funeral homes really do take advantage of you. Get whatever you can afford.

it's been 26 years but, i still remember going off on the person at the funeral home when they told me it would have cost half as much if we had made the deal BEFORE she died.

And this is the very reason so many people are opting for cremation as opposed to the typical funeral. Those directors are like vultures sitting on tree branches waiting for someone to die so they can make bank.

I've already told my wife that if I die before her, I want to be cremated and she can do as she pleases with my remains. Hell, I don't even want or need an obit in the local paper since the people who know me will already know I'm dead.

The only thing I want is for her to have a big crawfish boil when the season rolls around and have a good time with family and friends telling stories----and lies about me.

Other than that, I don't give a rat's arse.

They are worse than car salesmen.

They are specifically taking advantage of someone at their worst moment.

I did a fair amount of work in sales when I was younger... And spotting someone selling pisses me off. My cousin, who currently works in sales, is kind hearted. And he bought the pitch. He was then told to get up from the desk and go sit on the couch.

The guy had quoted a number on the phone and then tripled it in person. He figured no one would push back in a time of grief.

They are the scum of the earth. They arent your friend. They aren't actually sorry for your loss. You are nothing more than a dollar sign.
