1979 USC. That still stings.
I was working the backroom (kitchen cleaning) at Wendys on Causeway in Metairie and listening to the radio. The announcers had to almost yell to be heard because the crowd was so loud. And it never got quiet. Then they ripped us off with that facemask on Benji Thibodeaux!

I was at that game in 1979. the refs were Pac 10 and the call against Benji was BS. It was on third down and kept their final drive alive. truly heartbreaking. RE: Bama 1/9/12, it was heartbreaking that OK State lost because people in the know knew we could not beat Bama again and we deserved to be national champs that year.
