I see some on Amazon but they are brands I’m not familiar with. If any of you know of some I’d really appreciate it.

Advice you didn’t ask for:

Instead, get some Copa Mundial, or any cleats made of (real) kangaroo leather. I converted about a year ago and it’s ridiculous how much better/more comfortable they are.

Are the $275 boots really worth it?

Don’t buy unbranded boots off Amazon. Check your nearest Nike outlet, Joesnewbalanceoutlet.com, or check for sales on various online retailers like soccer.com, prodirectsoccer, dick’s etc.

There are also tons of smaller soccer retailers tbat will discount older models (upper90, soccer premier, soccerwearhouse, wegotsoccer, soccerloco)

Check those sites for higher end name brand models that are marked down. I appreciate the craftsmanship of something like an unozero, but for my money I’d want something more lightweight and modern fitting/looking. There are some models that still give a classic feel with leather but are modern - Nike Tiempo Legend Elite, Nike Premier, Puma King, New Balance 442 Pro.

I currently play in Nike Tiempo’s and love them. They retail for $235 and I found them at my local Nike outlet for $135. I’ve also played in Puma Future and New Balance Furon - love both of those as well.

Just don’t buy Amazon boots if he’s a competitive player. You can find high end boots for low prices if you look.

Edit: and if you’re willing to spend $275 on a pair, look at Mizuno’s Made in Japan offerings. Some of the overall best boots you can buy.

I mostly buy boots off eBay. My son likes a specific Tiempo, so I just scour eBay for his size. I only buy from America…but you can still get Nikes made in Italy if you search.
