You also have to as a couple either (a) make enough money to pay rent/mortgage, child care and expenses or (b) for one of the two to make enough for house and expenses and allow the other spouse to stay home with the kids. That takes at least 5-10 years after college for most people, especially in moderately urban areas, and that’s if they have a really good job and do well at it.

What you said may be true, but only in the context of demanding a certain standard of living.
If one were to accept living in a trailer,
Cooking meals at home, driving old cars, etc, it would be doable much earlier.
Young people who refuse to lower their expectations for standard of living are playing a risky game at the end of which they may be childless and alone.
