Yeah I mean him becoming a great blocker would be ideal. He has a physical profile that makes that possible. It's just unlikely that he can develop at both while here, and we do NOT want him developing as a blocker at the expense of developing as a receiver.

That sort of development takes 2-3 years in the NFL (after 3-4 in college) with NFL coaching for most TEs to get competent in both. In CFB with CFB coaching limitations (both in terms of talent and time constraints), it's just unrealistic to think you can develop both since he'll only be here 3-4 years.

Don't think he needs to be a great blocker, just a competent one. He's supposedly put on 15 pounds since he's been here, so around 240 now. He can easily add another 10 pounds or so and become a good enough blocker to keep the defense guessing in 12 formations. Not saying this will all happen this year, but I also don't think he redshirts and think he'll be really well rounded by this time next year.
