Let’s be honest here, if you were a 17-18 year old kid from Dallas, what looks better to you, Austin or Baton Rouge? Add in the fact that Austin is only a couple hours away whereas Baton Rouge is 7-8 hrs away. Also add in the fact that you have a severely autistic brother that you want to be close to in case needs arise for him. And oh by the way, you’re going to get half a million dollars for your troubles.

Very hard to say no to that deal. Don’t get me wrong, I really want us to land him, but I get it if he goes to Texas.

I get everything you are saying and don't disagree but with NIL and the money some college players are making. A player could easily fly home without a problem it's 1hr 33 minute flight from Baton Rouge to Dallas. Also if they miss that flight could fly from New Orleans to Dallas on 1 hr 25 minute flight. Austin is cool it's not my taste just depends on the person I guess he might love or not love it. Also he might just want to rep his state and attend Texas. He will be good anywhere he goes and wishing him the best.

I lived in both and in terms of college life Baton Rouge is awesome. If you’re 30 and single that’s a different discussion, but even that not as much as you’d think because the influx of tech bros to Austin really tilted the balance out of whack, Austin is kind of a sausage fest now.

Baton Rouge definitely has its problems, but have you been to Austin lately? Homeless people are everywhere and the university is landlocked inside the city with no where to expand. Call me a traditionalist, but I’d much rather go to school at a place like LSU or any other SEC school as opposed to walking around a big downtown area for college.
