The point I was trying to make was that to this voter, Trump offers both. If this voter values pro choice higher, they might vote Biden over DeSantis. You can't argue that every Trump voter would vote for DeSantis, but not every DeSantis voter would vote Trump.
There are always trumpers and never trumpers, but what happens in the middle matters. What makes up a never trumpers? Is it a dem that is both a never trumper and never any R, or a voter that will vote for every R but Trump? Are the always trumpers saying that the only R they will vote for is Trump, or will they vote for any R, but nothing can change their mind from Trump in the primary?
