In 2011, Shreveport had 15 consecutive days of 100+ temps, Monroe had 14. Shreve had 63 days total of 100+ temps that summer, Monroe 49

Lots of folks point to 1921 as an example of "it's been this hot before". And while that was a very hot year for BR, the hottest on record in fact with an average temp of 70.7 (2nd/3rd is 2016/2020 at 70.2), 2023 so far is running 1.3 degrees hotter than 1921 through the same point of that year (73 vs 71.7).

Maybe the rest of the year will be cooler to bring the average down, but so far there's no question 2023 is on pace to beat 1921 as the hottest year in BR by quite a lot. 1921 had 0 nighttime lows at or above 80 degrees. 2023 has had 13 already.
