The amount of turnovers was ridiculous. Yes, LSU played at what appears to be a very fast pace with a ton of total possessions. But averaging nearly 20 TOs per game is something that can't happen once the games start to matter.
This was one of the downsides of Mcmahon's offense at Murray state. His offense has a lot of fast-paced movement, especially off ball and it lead to a lot of turnovers. His last season at Murray State was one of their best turnover-wise and they still averaged around 11 turnovers a game. Outside of that, his teams averaged almost 14 a game, which is a lot. May have been from illegal screen calls, but those 20 TO/game needs to come down to around 12 to not be completely detrimental in SEC play

To be fair though, TOs per possession is probably the more relevant stat than the raw TO number. For instance, if I have 85 possessions in a game and 15 turnovers, that's not as bad as 60 possessions and only 11 turnovers.
If LSU is going to play an up tempo game with a large number of possessions, I'm ok living with 13, 14 TOs per game (though you always want less than that). But if LSU is going to play a slow paced, low possession game, then they cannot afford to have 13-15 turnovers because in a low possession game you are only going to have so many opportunities to score.
However, 20 TOs per game is NEVER and acceptable nubmer
