Grady White Sailfish 25 Value

Not trying to start a for sale thread here, but my dad has a Grady White 25 sailfish he's considering getting rid of. It hasn't been in the water in a while and has one engine that starts intermittently (seems to be a wiring issue). Outboards are twin 250 Yamahas - 2 cycle (not sure on the year but i think late 90s or early 2000's). What are y'alls thoughts on pricing or value for this thing? I know a good bit about bass boats, but neither he or I really know anything about the offshore market at this point.

Grady name will bring value. 2 stroke power and walk-around design will hurt value compared to center console. Is the transom solid? If the transom needs replacing you are talking major value degradation and your buyers market will be relegated to only those who are planning for a complete refurb and repower.

Yeah I figured the older engines will hurt it some, but the transom and boat in general is solid. He maintained it really well until around the time covid started, but they're getting up there a little in age now with some health stuff and he's ready to get it out of his yard.

24 year old motors means repair parts are no longer available. Any wood in the build would be suspect rot. check the mfg literature. built in aluminum tank concerns about pitting. Trailer axles/springs. Consider it a project boat. Probably require 50 thousand for new motors, 10 for general refurbishment and 10 for new electronics.

You need to either put a little effort and probably a small chunk of money into getting everything working and either hope to find a smuck in love with some nostalgia of the boat or just plan on selling it quick. As said 2 smokes especially with even the hint of an issue will turn people away.

We're not remotely looking to get rich on it. The trailer's in great shape with brand new tires. My plan at the moment is to get the engines squared away and go from there.
