I don't understand the point of leagues with 20+ teams.

People have to stop thinking about this as conferences. It’s professional college football leagues.
Looks like we might be at just two sooner then we even thought.
Eventually the numbers will show that merging the sec and BIG will lead to even more money and there will be just one.

I agree. At 9 conference games in a 20+ team league, that means it takes at least six seasons to play a home and home with everyone else in the league.
I’m not that good with math, but I’m guessing it’s possible you could get a 9-0 team and four 8-1 teams tied for the second spot in a conference championship game, where there were only 3-4 common opponents among the 4 tied teams and the teams were all 1-1 against each other. It’s going to create a mess.
