tinting interior windows of a house

Anyone have any experience doing this? I’ve got two big windows on the west side of my house that the wife doesn’t want blinds or shades on. It gets hot as hell in those areas in the afternoon. Thinking about getting them tinted . No pics of wife. Sorry everyone!

You can buy it at Lowes and do it yourself, pretty easy to apply.
I have put it on a couple of doors/windows on my house.

I ordered the tint online and did all of my windows. It wasn't very difficult to do.

How dark should one go? I obviously don’t want to black out my windows, but I want the shite to work.

You better check the legal limit so you can still get a home inspection sticker.

I had the same issue I had someone come out and use the clear ceramic tint so it wouldn’t darken the windows. It works great.

We did the one way mirror tint and I think it works well.

I watched a guy come out and do quite a few large and smaller windows for a rich relative of mine. The guy was quick and made it look easy enough. There is probably a getting started period before you really get the hang of it, but should be easy enough to do yourself.
It did help reduce heat and possibly being blinded depending on where you were seated at various times throughout a sunny day.

I researched tinting and ended up getting solar screens. Cheaper and not permanent.

This is a better option and makes a huge difference on south/west facing windows. I did it years ago by building the screens myself with off the shelf materials at home depot. Take them down in the winter for solar warming.

My front door has a window that sat right in the path of the summer afternoon sun and my TV.
I put a layer of Lumar 5% tint on it and it’s still on it till this day.
Eventually a the tulip poplar in the front yard got tall enough to block out that sun.
