Why aren’t my turnip seeds germinating? They’re in my raised bed in very fertile soil. It’s been 6 days.

Are they new seeds or leftovers from last year? And if old seeds, how were they stored?

I've bought fresh seeds from places like Home Depot and Lowes and they were for the current season but failed to germinate. Happens some time. After only 6 days, I'd give them more time, and keep the ground moist to help them along in this heat.

Seeds will sprout, start putting down roots and if not kept watered during that time, they can die off quickly when we have these temperatures.

Seeds. New seeds fresh out of the packet.

I’ll keep watering them.

I did miss a couple days of watering this weekend due to going out of town. That could be the case.
