Knoxville, TN mid-October

Looks like we're making the trip to Knoxville for the Ags/Vols game in mid-October. Some of our group already has 1 house secured up in the northside of town near Grisham Middle School/N Broadway (Fountain City?).
I'm guessing that finding another place for the rest of our group closer to town than that would be preferred. With the game and restaurants/nightlife being the focus of the trip, where is the main area for game weekend restaurants and nightlife? Any recommendations of bars/restaurants to hit?

You could also do the opposite and stay further away from town near the Smokies in a cabin. My favorite time of year in the park.

Tons of bars and restaurants near campus on the strip (Cumberland Ave) primarily between 18th and 22nd.
For food with a view, you can't go wrong with Calhoun's on the River (Neyland Drive by the Gay Street bridge), and there is a Ruth's Chris a stones throw away as well. Both are on the James White/Neyland Greenway path which allows you to walk right along the river, and where the Vol Navy docks on game day.
For the group staying up in Fountain City, they should grab a bite to eat at Litton's, which is about a block off N. Broadway on Essary. Their burgers are great.
