Heading to Riga in one week for an event.
Traveling solo with 4 days there. Any recommendations? Do’s and donts?

Love Riga! It's been a few years since I was there but Folkklubs ALA Pagrabs is cool. And Labietis is a great brewpub. I'll try to remember what else we did and post that later

Zappa, I’m pretty sure you already have a pinned write-up on Riga: TD Link

I went solo through Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
I highly recommend going to Ala Pagrabs. It's a basement restaurant/bar with a real speakeasy feel as you are walking through the corridor to get there. You have try kiploku grauzdini. It's Latvian garlic bread and it's one of the most delicious things I've had.
The city is pretty walkable, and there are many museums. The Museum of the History of Riga and Navigation is very interesting.

Very few long shots on this board. If you can get there, someone here has likely been.

Riga Central Market is a huge food hall where vendors sell all sorts of traditional Latvian food, raw meats and fish as well as cooked stuff.
Market Latgale is a flea market type place and when I was there in 2016 a lot of vendors were Russian and selling all sorts of Soviet military stuff as well as a lot of other flea market type stuff.
Ramen Riga is some of the best Ramen I've ever had.

Been away for a few days. Thanks for the recommendations and keep it coming.
I’ve booked a walking tour of Riga and a day trip to some of the palaces and hill of crosses in Lithuania.
Will definitely hit the market and try to take in some local cuisine.
