Hey folks, thanks for all the replies so far- appreciate it!
I'm actually from Tyrone, a County in the northern part of Ireland, with a big tradition in Gaelic Football - our National sport - I'd highly recommend catching a game (or a game of Hurling) if you ever get over to Ireland during the summertime
It looks like the way my travel dates work out I'll be coming to the Arkansas game (fingers crossed it's at night).Been a big BFL/College fan for years, so finally getting to see LSU, at home in DV is massive for me
Plenty of good advice so far and really looking forward to the game.
As tailgating is not really an Irish sports thing (we tend to just go straight to the bar pre game-then game-then pub post game) - is it really as simple as just going up to people and saying hello?

We tailgate next to the baseball field. If you plan to come by, you will be greeted with drinks and food and shown a good time. Even if it’s not with us, that will probably happen anywhere you go.

Yes. Just walk up to any big tailgate and tell them your story. If you have a noticeable accent they will likely throw all the food your way. Possibly light beer as well. Dalrymple is where a lot of the main tailgating occurs. From the beginning of campus towards the Cox Academic Center, that's where the team bus will drive down. The roundabout in front of Cox is where the team busses park and the players walk down. Both sides of the road are lined up with screaming fans when the guys walk down. Make sure you try to find a spot there.
LSU/Arkansas will be a hot September game, probably pushing upper 80 degrees, maybe even low 90s (heat index at least will be in the 90s). Postgame campus options are The Chimes, Rock Paper Taco, and City Slice. I know Murphy's reopened (Irish themed bar that shutdown years ago because a student died) but I have no idea what it's like. Sounds like a college student bar mostly.

Yes. I will add the caveat of look for people in their late 30's or older, they are much more likely to have a food and tailgate situation to accommodate a few extra people. Younger people just don't tend to have it together the way savvy vets do. Its why I suggested the RVs. If they have an RV, then they know what they are doing and will be willing to share.

With your backstory and Irish accent, you might want to bring some extra luggage for all the free stuff that will be thrown your way. You won't eat or drink for 3 days. Wear a Gaelic football jersey and you may not make it in the game due to all your new found friends

BTW, my favorite Pipe Band is from Northern Ireland. (Field Marshall Montgomery)
Hey man, you ever been down to Templemore in County Tipperary near the Devils's Bit? (That's Mrs. Semjase territory)
