I would rather pay the $80 and actually play golf.
Not sure why you're pretending Webb is the only course around town. Sure, I wish their greens were in better shape, but they are what they are until they do major renovations. Until then, Webb and City Park are great for getting out for $11 after work and getting some swings in.
Meanwhile, you can pay $50 and play great golf at The Island, Beaver Creek, Santa Maria, and hopefully Copper Mill when they reopen. There's also Greystone, Pelican Point, the new Clark course, and Carter Plantation is a great track within driving distance. Plenty of "actual" public golf in good/great condition around Baton Rouge that's reasonably priced as well that you can play all year long unlike literally half the country. That is my point.
Honestly, the worst part about Baton Rouge golf is the golfers themselves.

I think the worst part about Baton Rouge golf is that so little of it is actually in Baton Rouge. Gonzales, Plaquemine, Denham Springs, Zachary, Baker.
Hopefully BREC sees what's going on at Clark and makes a concerted effort to improve Webb and City accordingly.

Decent point other than most if the courses you named are not in BR. My problem is this-BREC levies a TAX on ALL of EBR. I’m not combing through their annual report or financials but I will bet you all day that golf is their number one (by far) most used facility. Sure Oak Villa for a portion of the year, maybe Liberty Lagoon for a few months, Highland and Independence and aome others for tennis and pickleball. I just asked that the budget and updates and renovations keep pace with what the tax payers use the most!
