Nope. Never ben chosen to do so. Hell, I cant even buy lsu season basebALL tickets But I don't feel bad about it. I was there in the majors at a VEREY YOUNG AGE, AND ENJOYED EVERY Day I got yo coach the pitchers from 1964 through 1972

Mr. Swanson, didn't your dad coach or play at LSU? Wasn't he the Superintendent at LTI Monroe. A legend indeed. Back when LTI was more of a boys school that a jail, they played LHSAA sports and he probably coached Art Cantrelle and Joe Labruzzo at LTI. Also, the football field or gym was named after him.
I might be off on some of this but you can straighten me out.
I know Joe Adcock told me when he was playing basketball at LSU, the first baseman was injured with a handful of games left in the season,. Mr. Swanson came over to the dorm and asked Joe to fill in for the remainder of the year. Joe told him he'd never picked up a bat even in the cow pastures of Red River Parish. Mr. Swanson convinced him to help the team out.
Joe's first at bat, ever, much less in a college game versus Tennessee, hit a home run. Apparently Mr. Swanson knew his business as Joe went on to be a damn good major leaguer.
