The pool cleaner takes in and expels water constantly, which can lead to water sitting in a chamber, affecting the buoyancy and travel of the unit. They suggest unplugging the unit, remove the basket and set it upside down out of the pool 12 to 24 hours, periodically. This completely drys the unit out and allows any "stuck" water to drain completely. I probably do this every few months or whenever the unit seems sluggish or less efficient.
