Screw it. I lost a stressful, high paying job, because I became an alcoholic, and addicted to cocaine.

Told my wife that it was related to me drinking on the job, but didn't tell her the rest. As it turns out, losing this job was the best thing to happen to me. It allowed me to reset my life and career. I had to work from the bottom but I'm slowly working my way back up to the top.

I imagine most people’s dark secrets revolve around alcohol, drugs, or porn.

I used to be in a situation like you. While I luckily never got into the hard stuff, I’d kill a few beers on the way to work and some at lunch as well. It got to a point I’d tell my wife I was going to ‘the gym’ and just go sit in a random parking lot killing a six pack. I finally left that job and started over with a much better situation and quit those shenanigans overnight. Luckily it never came to me getting fired or divorced. A shitty career situation isn’t worth it. Will never fall until that trap again.

I had issues with booze, fast living and women. Went through a 3-4 year stretch. At one point I had two other husbands looking for me simultaneously.

I really don't regret it. I regret certain things that happened, but I've made peace with it.
