As good as Burrow was and he is a generational type QB but he did have the advantage to a new offense from LSU finally opening it up and had great talent everywhere….not just the receivers but CEH fit that offense perfectly plus if I remember correctly I think 3 of the 5 lineman went on to start year one in the NFL. Not to discount what Burrow did cause he was phenomenal but Daniels in 2022 had a different deck he was handed. Not to say Daniels in year 2 with the 2019 would have been anywhere near Burrow numbers but they would be increased for sure even over what he does this year

It was even better than that. Yeah, three started year one: Lewis, Cushenberry and Ingram started game 1. But Saadiq Charles also won the starting job in his first camp, but got injured, otherwise that would be four! Plus Deculus and Hines areon NFL rosters and Magee was a borderline NFL guy.

That's six guys on NFL rosters with four starters and a seventh guy kicking around. That Joe Moore trophy wasn't a fluke. That was the best line in college football. And if you don't believe it rewatch the Bama game from 2019, and pay attention to the line. They pushed Bama around all night.

I agree. As the years go on, I become more amazed by the collection of talent we had on that 2019 team.

Burrow is good enough that I’m confident we would see him as the GOAT LSU QB with just about any LSU roster surrounding him. But when you look at the supporting cast.. it’s nuts.

Three year-1 NFL starting OL (four if you count Charles, who got injured). Year-1 NFL starting RB. Three NFL WRs including two year-1 Pro Bowl WRs. We all know how good JJ and Chase were, but the idea of having two WRs who would go on to make the Pro Bowl as rookies along with a generational QB just makes my head spin.

Adrian Magee and Thad Moss are the only starters from the 2019 offense who aren’t on active NFL rosters right now. That’s insane.

All of this to say that yeah, Burrow is tGOAT. But the supporting cast might be what takes him from having a great season to a historical season. I don’t know if we will ever see a collection of talent like that again.
