Paul apparently called out Diaz the other day for a lackluster fight promotion on his end.

Nate seemingly is just there for the payday. There's even speculation he could go back to UFC afterward, but who knows.

quote:

On August 5, Jake Paul and Nate Diaz will collide in a boxing match.
It’s a fight that has been years in the making, and it’s expected to do big numbers on pay-per-view. However, it won’t be clear until the dust settles just how big the contest is going to be.

Jake Paul always does a solid job of promoting his bouts, as you’d expect. In terms of the Diaz fight, though, it seems as if he’s less than pleased with the effort being put in by his opponent.

He spoke about this matter in a recent interview.

“That’s what I wanted – that’s why I signed up for this – is to give the people a show and to squash this beef,” Paul said. “He talked a lot more sh*t to me before we signed up to fight. So, he’s kind of being a b*tch in that sense. I expected more out of him, and I expected him to carry that gangster attitude and to not take my insults. But he’s pretty much rolled over like a b*tch and has been quite boring, which pisses me off. But I’m used to carrying these promotions. It’s no different in this one.”

anybody that knows nate diaz will know that he will do the opposite of what you want him to do. I watched a video the other day from nate and he looked like he was in great shape. Id love to see him win this fight and come back to the UFC for a big rematch with conor or something to finish out his career. jake paul is a much bigger dude than him though.

Yep, but mostly due to when Nate fought that guy in the French Quarter he was in town because the organization he is affiliated with had an event here

Nate Diaz has 13 losses on his record .... 13.

just because he prioritizes a fake / wanna-be ghetto personality over everything else in life ... doesn't mean that he is some "bad arse".

Jake Paul is right about him in this situation.

He was one of the most overrated ufc fighter. I guess if you flip the bird during a fight the fan goes crazy for that.

Diaz is liked because he always comes to fight. Other fighters play it more cautious and it makes for boring fights. Diaz just wants to scrap. Go look at how many “fight of the night” or “submission of the night” awards he’s won. That is bad arse in its own right, not to mention he’s also won the Ultimate Fighter and fought for both the WEC and UFC titles.

You may not like his “ghetto” style, but he can fight, plain and simple.

Same here but I think Paul wins. Bigger guy. He's back to fighting non boxers after getting out boxed by a bad boxer. Paul is over a 3:1 betting favorite at the moment.

Nate's gonna take your money and show up. Flex. Throw a stockton slap or two. Go home and smoke his winnings. It's Nate Diaz. What did they expect?

Honestly his work ethic is pretty impressive. But anyone who say Paul vs Fury saw that the skill level just isn’t there. He works hard enough to be good enough to beat any of these UFC guys in boxing but is an average boxer at best.

Nate is a solid boxer as well, but does not have great power. His strengths are his gas tank and his chin and his ability to get stronger as the fight goes on.

Paul is not in the greatest shape, stamina wise, compared to most boxers. I don't think Nate will KO him, but he will be able to land some hard shots in the later rounds of the fight if Paul doesn't connect early with a big power shot.
