I started using Delta exclusively for the past 6 years.

Never a single issue other than maybe a 15-40 minute delay every once in awhile

Why don't they just leave luggage behind then? Offer people $ to receive their luggage late

baggage is peanuts as pertaining to weight, fuel is what they're looking at on a flight like that

All that makes sense, but it seems like the airlines should plan for this occurrence. A few people being asked to switch when the temp is higher than anticipated, but 12 people is way out of line.

there have been quite a few good explanations of what happened but no one accepts them, Key West has a very short runway for a transport jet, the airplane is loaded to the max with people and luggage/freight, now they have to gas it up to safely takeoff with an engine failure performance factored in, then fly to DFW with legal fuel reserves, shite's going to happen there in the summer time

If they wouldn't cram us in like sardines, they would have some wiggle room. I appreciate that it is a huge task with all the airlines, traffic control, luggage/freight and people getting to places all over the US/world safely and generally timely, but air travel seems to be getting worse for the general consumer.

yep, and the removal of passengers wouldn't be necessary because of the reduced seating capacity

Less competition and employees with horrible attitudes, they think it’s ok to mistreat and bully their customers.

that's the irony of deregulation, it has evolved(devolved?) back to the way it started, the big legacy airlines that were strong and powerful before dereg have been the ones left standing, it's the gnats on the horses arse that keep forcing them to compete with flight by night, bush league shite, meaning it drags everything down to the lowest common denominator

ETA: and your government likes it that way

, TSA sucks but you can blame that on Osama

This times a thousand. It adds 90 mins minimum on a RT flight or you risk missing said flight(s). Its amazing that todays college graduates never got to experience a pre-9/11 flight. In a previous life, I flew Hobby to Love every two weeks for three years straight. I would pull into the parking lot at Hobby 20 mins before departure. Today, even with Clear and TSA pre-check its just a big drain on time. At the end of the day, the actual flying part is perfectly fine. Hell, its 2-3 hours sitting down with no phone calls. I enjoy it.

That’s a brutally hot airport this time of year.

Just because it’s the furtherest point south in the US doesn’t make it brutally hot; you do realize it’s surrounded by water? Low 90’s is about as hot as it gets. Today was 94, which is considered really hot for Key West. 91-92 max for highs next week. Not exactly brutal….

American sucks so bad!! I had three flights in a row with no air blowing. That was the last time for me. After the last flight, I opened a Delta account and I've never looked back

Both airlines and passengers have gotten worse over time. Airline employees used to treat you a lot better, much better customer service.

But passengers have become trashier and more unruly over time. I fly Southwest and United every month for work. I have maybe seen one “pre boarder” on a United flight. On the flip side there’s a minimum of 6 on every Southwest flight. If you give people an inch they will take advantage of any and everything because people are more selfish/self centered now.
