Pistol Pete is an alltime great in basketball, but he's not inspiring kids to come play football at LSU after the year 2000. He left LSU in 1970, retired in 1980, died in 1988. Mathieu was born in 1992.
He also didn't list Cannon, the other Heisman winner, probably because to him, that's just a name on a plaque.
