Looking at Houston theatres for M:I and Oppenheimer...
Regal theatres have all kinds of different screens besides IMAX (I plan on IMAX for Oppenheimer), but for M:I would anyone recommend these other screen formats??
4DX looks like a ride? Would that get annoying?
ScreenX has screens on both sides of main screen... wth?

Anyway, looking for someone who has actually seen a big movie in one of these formats and what do you think?
thanks

You need 70mm, no IMAX in Houston will be showing Oppenheimer in IMAX in 70mm. The only IMAX theaters in Texas that will be showing it in 70mm are in Dallas and San Antonio.

100% yes. Do not go see a movie in 4DX.

Only opportunity to see Top Gun was in 4DX and regretted it before the movie started.

Pass on 4DX. It’s very annoying.

I think ScreenX is worth it. It's a very unique experience. I saw Top Gun Maverick and it was pretty awesome. Most of the movie didn't utilize the side screens but the flight scenes did and it made it feel almost like being in the plane.

I'm not sure how much they'll utilize the side screens in Mission Impossible but I'd watch it just for the experience. I'm not sure if Dune will be released in ScreenX but that might be the only other movie worth seeing in that format this year.

I prefer Dolby to digital IMAX.
