Yeah I don't play fighting games online either. Too old for that shite. The only fighting game I really put a lot of time into online, essentially ever, was Dead or Alive 4 on 360. My God was that game amazing.

I will mention just because I really got into fighting games seriously including online with Guilty Gear Strive in 2021, to be too old requires you to basically be on death's door
Most of the things people stereotypically assume they need to be super good at to be even remotely decent at fighting games are extremely overblown. Now if you don't want to bother just because it doesn't interest you, that's fine naturally. I just wouldn't avoid it because of your own difficulty perception because it's likely wrong to be honest.
There was a guy who played in Evo over the past weekend, the biggest FG tourney on the planet, who was blind, and he played like a relatively Gold rank SF6 player and actually won his set on stream. Youtube link for those interested.
