Man I remember when Stovall rotated him out sometimes between Gary Hames and Dalton Hilliard.
Emery really should have gotten more opportunities earlier, but Charles the Great basically never took a play off. Cholly Mac would run him 100 times a game if he got the chance.

Kayshon Boutte last year
No Comparison. Boutte had one great year, started another, then was injured.

and aren't including Emery having a big year as part of their plans for the upcoming season.
Yeah, I can see the "plan" in Kelly's binder saying "whatever happens, DON'T have a big year from Emery".
I would be very shocked (not to mention VERY disappointed) to find that Kelly (or anyone significant on his staff) had only one "plan" for the season (or the program in general). I expect and hope that they plan for eventualities, and then they plan for more eventualities. And I would bet huge amounts of money that at least one of the eventualities they plan for this season is John Emery having a huge breakout year and being an explosive component of our running game and offense, and how to exploit that when and if it occurs.
Which is why this -- like all other positive news about the team -- is genuinely positive. Every positive possibility that remains or presents itself is just one more set of positive eventualities for the staff to capitalize on. Some of them will never materialize, which is why it is important to have as many as possible so that even when several of them fail to occur, you have plenty more upon which to build a great season (and sustainable program).

all the more reason for the establishment of a Semi-Pro Football League so all these "Want to play football and could care less about Academics" types go go participate in right out of High School.....
I think they already did that. I believe they call it "The SEC & the B1G".

Why? Five seasons, what makes this "Great News". Fool me once, twice, thrice, and counting. You guys still believe he can put together a season of in game production? I'm more excited for the freshmen running backs

Okay, I'll be honest as always. I wasn't caring one way or the other if Emery made a final appearance. But after watching the replay of the Bama game last night, I want him as one of our running backs. I'm feeling he could bring some magic in his final curtain call...
