Tiny nicks. You can bet your arse I wasn't going sideways and slicing. I was probably pressing a tad too hard because I wanted a close shave. I like to go with the grain, and then a pass against to get it nice and close.
I use the same method on my head and on my face (around my beard).
When I was shaving my head, I was always a breath away from pissing down my leg. These safety razors are nowhere near as safe and forgiving as my Gillete Fusion 5 when I'm shaving my dome.
It's somewhat weird how defensive you frickers are on this topic.

Yep, shouldn’t be pressing at all. Just glide it over the skin. You get a closer shave from using the correct angle, good lubrication, and subsequent passes.
Want a cherry limeade?

The key with a safety razor is multiple passes, not pushing harder, which you've probably figured out during this thread.
I use both kinds, even at home, depending on whether I'm just trying to look a bit less shaggy, or if I want a proper shave. Obviously can't bring the safety razor on the plane. Everybody can do whatever they want.
