Pressure washer recommendations

I need a pressure washer for my house. It'll be used for normal light duty house stuff - walkways, fence, side of the house etc. Any recommendations?

Honda engine. Approx 3200 psi will take care of anything around the house you are looking to accomplish.

Buy the electric one. And buy the warranty. Take it back and exchange it for a new one right before the warrant runs out. Electric was the choice for me because it’s easier to store.

Honda engine. Cat pump . 4 GPM.
I have one like that. Worth the extra money. Will take on any job. Last forever if you take care of it.

I bought a Simpson 3600 PSI with a Honda GX200 engine with low oil shutdown from Tractor Supply. The model number is PS60995. It said designed, engineered, made in the USA of foreign and domestic components. 3 YR warranty on the engine, 5 YR on the pump, and 10 YR on the frame. It was not their cheapest model nor their most expensive. It was a tad under the most expensive one which was a commercial offering. Works great for me. From my understanding the thing to pay attention to is the pump. That seems to be the biggest complaint when you buy the cheapest offerings they have is pump failure. That was my observation reading a bunch of customer reviews when trying to decide which kind to buy. They say you don’t want to leave them running very long without spraying water or it can mess up the pumps on those less expensive ones. Mine seems to be a pretty good one though. This gets the most dumb arse thing I did in 2022 award. I was pressure washing my driveway in flip flops and got distracted and it took the skin off the top of my foot. I won’t make that same mistake again!

I've had good service out of my Ryobi for a few years now. It's no Simpson but it wasn't priced like one either.

Honda GX motor Cat pump. From there, brand doesn’t matter imo.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure why someone is downvoting every reply in a pressure washer thread but have fun

I was really curious if someone was going to mention that the electric ones were pretty solid now because they are cheaper. I was leaning towards a gas one anyway though.

Most electric ones are pretty sackless. If you’re just using it to wash cars, rinse off 4 wheelers or rinse down a few things it’s fine but if you're cleaning any concrete or decks, getting up into eves to clean them, etc. you either need a 240V electric ($$) or gas.

You'll really want more gallons per minute and PSI if you have a two story house. Electric can do the job just fine, but will take longer and be better suited for a smaller property. Up to you though.

We don't have a 2 story house but I do have 100 ft long driveway and pretty big back patio and porch.

I bought a karcher from Costco with a honda engine over 20 years ago. Used it last week. starts right up and does a great job. I replaced the pump seals by watching you tube about 5 years ago. Great pressure washer.
3 items I reccomend:
1) Use ethanol free gas
2) Turn off the fuel line to shut it off at the end of the season so fuel does not sit in the carb
3) When you finish using it disconnect the hoses, disconnect the spark plug, and slowly pull the starter rope a few times to get the water out of the pump that will otherwise sit there.
Oh yeah, the pump is cooled by the water moving through it. Don;t leave it running a while without water moving through it to cool it down.

I have the Stihl RE110 Plus electric pressure washer. It is fantastic. Everything is built on the unit. Hose reel, long electric cord, attachments. It is super easy to get out and use. Basically just attach the water hose to it and go. I find that I use it a lot more than I used my gas powered pressure washer just because it is so easy to set up and then put back in the garage when I’m finished. I was worried about it not having enough pressure when I got it but I popped the driveway attachment to it about a month ago and it actually cleaned driveway and sidewalks better than my old gas pressure washer.
