You are correct. I went back and read it and he said ideally 2x but that some followers are having to go beyond that in high cost of living places.

I will also add that with a quick post review looks like the OP just finished residency.
My advice...
Do NOT upsize your house
Get off TD and go to the white coat investor forum
Don't piss away money on a big house.
My wife and I (both doctors) have a mortgage that is 1/3 our gross and the freedom you have without being saddled with debt is priceless. Particularly as a new attending...
